Ethical Ocean Recipe Contest

I was recently approached by Ethical Ocean with regard to a Vegan Recipe contest, asking me to enter. While this blog is not a Vegan blog by any means, it does have a lot of focus on vegetarian food (despite the fact that many of those recipes are not entirely Vegan), and I do have a favorite recipe that is entirely vegan — braised lentils and fennel. The recipe would be a great main dish if you are a vegan, or a wonderful side dish if you are not.

It may seem slightly hypocritical to enter a vegan recipe contest as a meat-eater, but Ethical Ocean also stands for sustainability and ethical products found all over the world. In the past I’ve written about seafood sustainability and the problems associated with the practice of selling fish that are not sustainable. I believe that Ethical Ocean stands for something that should be on more people minds and would encourage you to check it out.

With that said, I’d also love for you to vote for my recipe. There are daily prizes, which if I were to win, I would offer up as a giveaway on this site. Should I win the entire contest, I too would offer up that prize money (gift certificate to Ethical Ocean) on this site as well. You can vote for my recipe once per day until August 13th. So vote often. Thanks for your support!

About Evan

I like to eat. I like to cook. I like to eat what I cook. Now, I will share with you what I like to cook. My wife and I may be a vegetarian and a carnivore, but it doesn’t mean we can’t cook a nice meal with both, without compromising taste. I will share my creative meals of the Carnivore and the Vegetarian.
