I recently received an offer to try out a brand new yoghurt (no, that isn’t a typo) called Koru. It will be coming to the Northeast and I was given the change to try it before it hit the shelves. Typically I eat other varieties of yogurt in the morning, but I was intrigued and curious to see if this would stack up.
Koru comes in five flavors: Pomegranate/Cherry, Strawberry/Goji, Peach, Passion Fruit and Mango. The containers were about the same size as my typical brand, unless I buy the quart/pint containers to spoon out myself.
After tasting the Mango and the Passion Fruit flavors, I can honestly say that it is creamier, richer and packed with flavor. Their slogan of being a “Creamery style yoghurt” is pretty spot on — it is extremely flavorful and rich for coming out of a little plastic container from your grocery’s dairy aisle. I could definitely see myself purchasing some Koru — especially to try the strawberry/goji flavor, once it is available in New York City.
If you see Koru at Whole Foods or wherever you shop, I would definitely recommend giving it a taste.
