Caramelized Bananas with Ice Cream and Chocolate Syrup

I’m not the biggest fan of desserts, but sometimes, when I’m in the mood, I’ll do something simple. Usually out of a package. Tonight I felt like doing something simple but also fresh.

I decided to go with some caramelized banana on top of ice cream with chocolate sauce. The only thing I prepared are the bananas, but its still darn good.
Ingredients:
(serves 2)
2 Bananas slices lengthwise and cut into two halves
Chocolate sauce to taste
Vanilla Ice Cream
2 Tbl brown sugar
1/4 cup dark rum (Goslings!)
1 Tbl butter or margarine
Heat butter on medium and when it begins to sizzle add brown sugar and mix quickly. Add bananas to pan, round side up. Let bananas cook, untouched, for 20-30 seconds. Add rum and cook for an additional 1 minute.
Put bananas over ice cream with chocolate sauce and enjoy!!

  1. As if bananas weren't already scrumptious enough, caramelizing them makes them even better. Looks great!
