I’ve decided to add a new feature, though its certainly not new to the blogging world, to my blog that I will post on a weekly basis. Before I do though, I have to give credit where credit is due. My wife suggested this type of weekly post, as she sees them often on other sites. I know that I have too, but I never considered it here. I will try and post some links, blogs, articles that peaked my interest over the course of the week.
In addition, this week, I’d like to briefly talk about NearSay.com which I recently discovered on a random food group on meetup.com (a topic for another day). Anyway, I happened to see a posting for bloggers to contact them to be a part of their new site that launches any day. After a quick call and a brief meeting at their office in Tribeca, I decided that I would start posting on their site, which basically aggregates lots of information on restaurants, fashion, food and news in New York City. You can see whats happening on the LES or in midtown, and eventually my neck of the woods, the UWS. You can check out my profile here or you could join yourself! Its definitely a good opportunity if you happen to live in NYC or NJ and want to spread your blogs to more people.
And now, without further adue, I give you my first weekly roundup (this really should be easy with 1000’s of items in my google reader):
The No Recipes blog posted a delicious Spicy Peanut Butter and Pork Belly Sandwich. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
Tom Colicchio is opening a new restaurant on the East Side that will have Riverside views. Fresh of his James Beard award win, Colicchio will bring fresh dishes in the vein of his Coliccio & Sons restaurant.
Marcus Samuelsson’s Red Rooster looks to finally be opening.
Sadly, since leaving D.C., a new Vietnamese restaurant appears to be on the verge of opening on the Hill, according to MetroCurean. Save a banh mi for me.
While its a little more than a week old, I can’t stop thinking about iEatDC’s Challah recipe. I had to quench my hunger for challah at the Silver Moon Bakery.
Now the search begins for more recipes, restaurant openings and other crazy happenings in the world of food.
🙂 I love a good roundup!
I think you are the first one to actually read it 🙂
